Morgan Stanley Recruitment 2026: Morgan Stanley has a fresh opening for Associate, Fund Accounting in its Bengaluru office. It went up on their careers site on 12th October. They’re asking for 0 to 2 years of experience, so B.Com, BBA, M.Com and MBA Finance freshers can go for it.
Quick idea of the work. Morgan Stanley Fund Services looks after the books for hedge funds. Every day someone has to calculate each fund’s NAV, match Morgan Stanley’s records with the bank’s records, and sort out anything that doesn’t match. That’s what this team does. It’s accounting work, but with live market data instead of a normal company’s ledger.
Fair warning: month-end gets busy, and the job post says so. If you’re fine with that, the pay and the name on your CV make it a good first job.
Note: Heads up, there are fake recruiters out there. Neither we nor Morgan Stanley will ever ask you for money.

Who Can Apply
B.Com, BBA, BAF, M.Com and MBA Finance freshers can apply, and so can people with up to 2 years in fund accounting, reconciliation or bank operations. CA Inter or CFA Level 1 candidates who want to get into fund services are also a good fit. You should be comfortable with a lot of Excel and numbers.
Who Cannot Apply
If you have 3+ years of experience, look at their Senior Associate opening instead. Candidates with no accounting basics will struggle, and current students can’t apply.
Required Skills
Solid accounting basics like debit, credit, accruals and P&L. Good Excel, especially VLOOKUP, pivots and reconciliations. Being careful with numbers, since one mistake changes the NAV. Clear emails, because you’ll work with teams in New York, London and Hong Kong. And the ability to stay calm when month-end hits.
Morgan Stanley Selection Process
Morgan Stanley hasn’t listed the rounds. From what freshers usually go through for fund services roles there, it looks something like:
- Online application on the Morgan Stanley careers site
- Online test (aptitude, accounting basics, sometimes Excel)
- Technical interview: accounting, NAV, reconciliation
- Manager round
- HR discussion
Not every candidate goes through the same steps, so keep checking your inbox.
Why Join Morgan Stanley?
Two things: pay and brand. AmbitionBox puts Morgan Stanley fund accountants at around Rs 8.6 – 11.1 LPA, which is well above what most fresher accounting jobs offer. And hedge fund accounting is a specialised skill. A couple of years here and you’ll find openings at other banks and fund admin firms easily.
The downside is the hours around month-end. Most people who’ve worked in fund accounting will tell you the same.
How to Prepare for This Role
- Know what NAV is. Total assets minus liabilities, divided by units. Be ready to explain it with a small made-up example.
- Understand reconciliation. Why would your records and the bank’s records differ? Timing, missed trades, wrong prices. Think of 3-4 reasons.
- Basics of hedge funds. Long, short, leverage, management fee and performance fee. Just the basics.
- Revise Excel. They may give you a small reconciliation task.
- Read up on corporate actions. Dividends, stock splits and bonus issues, and how they change holdings.
- Go through our interview questions section for the HR round.
