Responsibilities of an Apprentice:

• Assist in developing and enhancing system-level models using MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, Stateflow, SystemC, and TLM-2.0 for hardware-software co-simulation.

• Design and execute experiments to evaluate key performance metrics such as latency, throughput, utilization, power consumption, memory footprint, and area efficiency.

• Implement and calibrate basic power models using specifications, RTL activity data, and measured system behavior.

• Contribute to the development of device models, IP blocks, interconnect behavior, and software workload integration within virtual platform environments.

• Build and integrate physical and plant models, including sensors, actuators, and power stages, for end-to-end system validation.

• Automate simulations, regression testing, and parameter sweeps while generating reports, visualizations, and dashboards using MATLAB and Python.

• Conduct design-space exploration and sensitivity analysis to identify performance trade-offs and optimization opportunities.

• Support model correlation activities with RTL simulations, emulation platforms, and silicon measurements.

• Maintain technical documentation, coding standards, version control practices, and engineering methodologies.

• Participate in technical research, literature reviews, innovation programs, seminars, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Collaborate with system architects, firmware engineers, verification teams, and senior researchers to improve model accuracy and runtime performance

Infineon Education Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in
  – Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  – Computer Engineering
  – Related field.

Required skills:

• Solid fundamentals in digital logic, computer architecture, and embedded systems; exposure to control systems or signal processing is a plus.
• Familiarity with at least one modeling path:
• Understanding of PPA basics:
• Programming/scripting: MATLAB and/or C++; Python for automation and data analysis preferred.
• Basic familiarity with HDLs (Verilog/VHDL) and co-simulation concepts.
• Comfortable with data analysis, plotting, and writing clear, concise technical reports.
• Growth mindset: proactive, curious, and eager to learn new tools and methodologies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; organized and detail-oriented.
