Eligibility Criteria for SCC Constable Recruitment Drive 2026
- The candidates must have passed the Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/ University as on or before the cut-off date i.e., 01-01 2026.
- Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on the stipulated date (i.e., 01-01-2026) will not be eligible and need not to apply
SSC Constable (GD) 2026 – Age Limit:
- The candidate’s age must be between 18 and 23 years as of 01-01-2026 (i.e., born not before 02-01-2003 and not later than 01-01-2008).
Age Relaxation of SSC Jobs:
- 5 years for SC/ST candidates
- 3 years for OBC candidates
- Ex-Servicemen- 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the date of reckoning
- Children and dependent of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat

SSC Constable GD Salary:
The Selected Candidates will get a Pay Level – 3 (₹21,700/- to ₹ 69,100/-) for all the posts.
SSC Constable Selection Process:-
The SSC GD recruitment process consists of four stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Medical Test
Candidates who pass the exam must participate in document verification.
Computer-Based Examination 2026:
- The Computer-Based Examination will consist of one Objective Type Paper containing 80 questions carrying 2 marks each with the following composition
- There will be a negative mark of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
- Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
- The dates of the Computer-Based Examination will be informed to candidates only through the website of the Commission
- The questions in the Computer-Based Examination will be of Matriculation level.
- ‘Walk-through video/ Mock Test’ on the Computer-Based Examination has been provided on the website of the Commission in the ‘Candidate’s Corner’ Section.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) -SSC GD Constable Exam 2026:
- Based on the performance in CBE, candidates will be shortlisted for PET/ PST by the Commission.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) will be conducted at various centres finalized by the CAPF.
- Candidates have to clear the race within the following time limits:

Physical Standard Test (PST) – SSC GD Constable Exam 2026:
- Height:
- Male: 170 cms
- Female: 157 cms
- Chest – Male:
- Un-expanded: 80 cms
- Minimum expansion: 5 cms
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
- Few categories of candidates are allowed relaxation in heights mentioned in the advertisement.
Medical Examination: Candidates will be shortlisted for a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) from the pool of candidates who qualify PET/ PST.
SSC GD Constable Jobs 2026 – Application Fee
- For General/ OBC Candidates – Rs. 100/-
- Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.
