AFCAT 2026 Vacancy

Indian Air Force AFCAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria:

For Flying Branch:

• Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level and
• Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
  OR
  BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
  OR
  Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalen.

For Ground Duty (Technical):

Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics)-

• Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level, MSc Electronics with a minimum of 50% marks with BSc in Physics with a minimum of 60% OR a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University OR cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent

Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical)-

• Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from recognized University OR cleared Sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent

For Ground Duty (Non-Technical)

Weapon Systems (WS) Branch-

• Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and
• Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
  OR
  BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised
  University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Administration & Logistics-

• Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or {cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.}

Education-

• Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline.

Accounts Branch-

Passed 10+2 and done graduation in any of the following streams with 60 % marks or equivalent from a recognized university:

• B. Com Degree (Min three years course).
• Bachelor of Business Administration (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Management Studies (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Business Studies (with specialization in Finance)
• Qualified CA/ CMA/ CS/ CFA.
• B.Sc. with specialization in Finance

Education-

• Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% marks in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree withou permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline

Meteorology-

• Passed 10+2 and B Sc with Physics and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or four year Graduation in Engineering/Technology discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent

AFCAT 2025 Physical Fitness Test:

• Candidates are advised to be physically fit when you report for SSB in order to be able to undergo various tests at AFSB. You should aim to achieve an ability to run 01 mile (1.6 kms) in 10 minutes, 10 push ups and 3 chin ups.

AFCAT 1 2025 – Age Limit:

Air Force AFCAT 2025 – Selection Process:

• Online Written Exam

Question Type: Objective Type

Number of Questions: 100

Maximum Mark: 300

Subject: General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test

Marking Scheme: +3 marks for each correct answer and -1 mark for every incorrect answer

Duration: 02 Hours

• AFSB Testing

Stage 1:

1. Officer Intelligence Rating Test
2. Picture Perception and Discussion Test

Stage 2:

1. Psychological Tests
2. Group Tests
3. Personal Interview

PABT/ CPSS Test: A Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) would be administered to recommended candidates only.

• Medical Examination

Eligibility: Only those recommended by the Selection Board undergo this examination.

Test:

1. Running 1.6 km in 10 minutes.
2. Perform at least 10 push-ups.
3. Completing 3 chin-ups.

• Final Merit List

  Based on the combined score of AFCAT + AFSB

IAF AFCAT 2026 – Application Fee:

• Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 550/- (plus GST) as an examination fee
• However, candidates registering for NCC Special Entry and Meteorology Entry are not required to pay.

• Open the official portals for AFCAT 1 Exam 2024: www.afcat.cdac.in, https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in/.
• Click on the ‘New Registration’ link to begin the registration process.
• Provide your mobile number and email ID for updates and receive an OTP for verification.
• Enter the OTP received on your email and mobile to verify your contact details.
• Upon verification, you’ll receive a login ID and password in your email.
• Access the ‘Candidate Login’ portal using the provided credentials.
• Enter the captcha code and click on ‘Sign In’.
• Choose the desired posts you wish to apply for.
• Complete the application form by filling in educational qualifications and other required fields.
• Pay the examination fee using a Debit Card/ Credit Card or any online payment mode.
• Upload scanned passport-size photographs and signatures in jpeg format.
• Upload educational certificates, category certificates, and other necessary documents through the provided link.
