What an Associate Analyst at Thomson Reuters actually does:

  • Perform comprehensive QA testing for Gosystem and UltraTax products, including forms and MTB regression testing before and after product releases.

  • Accurately document issues in the tracker, follow up with developers, and ensure timely resolution and closure.

  • Test assigned states thoroughly within timelines, maintaining quality benchmarks and compliance standards.

  • Analyze tax locators and test scenarios to verify that calculations are accurate according to applicable state guidelines and FAQs.

  • Collaborate with BAs and managers on issue resolution, cross-product training, and ad-hoc project deliverables.

  • Obtain XSD schemas from U.S. state and federal government sources and create master schemas for individual states.

  • Map relevant codes and attributes from XSD schemas to the software to help generate accurate XML outputs

  • Apply appropriate mapping techniques to validate electronic filing data.

  • Create diverse test scenarios using locators to validate software functionality and generate XML outputs.

  • Submit test samples to the State jurisdictions and get the Forms/Efile Approval

  • Assist U.S.-based developers with critical support calls and tickets when required.

  • Stay updated on product changes, compliance requirements, and complete mandatory eLearning courses during downtime
