Educational Qualification
10th pass with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks, along with any one of these in the same trade:
- ITI certificate / National or State Trade Certificate, or
- 2 years full-time experience as Apprentice Trainee, or
- 3 years’ work experience in a Government / PSU / autonomous body

CSIR CFTRI Technician Salary / Pay Scale
Technician (1) is placed in Pay Level 2 (Rs. 19,900 – 63,200). The total monthly salary at the start is about Rs. 37,260 including DA and HRA at Mysuru. Medical, LTC, children education allowance and NPS benefits are also given as per CSIR rules.
Selection Process of CSIR CFTRI Careers:
Selection will be done in three stages. Each stage is explained below.
Stage 1 – Screening
A Screening Committee will check all applications. Only candidates who meet the qualifications, age and other conditions will be called for the trade test.
Stage 2 – Trade Test (Qualifying)
Shortlisted candidates will take a practical trade test in their trade. This test is only qualifying. Marks are not added in the final merit, but candidates must pass it to reach the written exam.
Stage 3 – Written Examination (Merit)
Candidates who pass the trade test will appear in the written exam. Paper I is qualifying. The final merit list is made on the marks of Paper II and Paper III.
If two candidates get equal marks, preference goes to higher subject marks, then fewer negative marks, then the older candidate.
