Responsibilities of a Market Operations:

Transaction Screening :

• Execute sanctions screening activities across various financial products, including Corporate FX, Derivatives, Interbank Transactions, Fixed Income, and Money Market instruments.

• Review transaction alerts and identify potential compliance risks, sanctions concerns, or suspicious activities.

• Apply global sanctions screening guidelines and internal compliance procedures when investigating alerts.

• Support alert disposition processes and ensure timely resolution of compliance-related cases.

• Collaborate with Sanctions ICRM, Operations teams, and Business Units to investigate and resolve complex cases.

• Escalate high-risk or unresolved alerts to senior stakeholders and compliance teams when necessary.

• Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for screening activities.

Risk & Control:

• Support monitoring and reporting of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) within Market Operations.

• Prepare and distribute KRI status updates to process owners and management teams.

• Assist with data collection and centralized reporting for manual payment volumes, non-EERS reviews, and compliance training status.

• Track operational control deficiencies and identify areas requiring corrective action.

• Escalate delays, control breaches, or process lapses to appropriate stakeholders.

• Participate in risk assessment activities and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory standards, and operational governance requirements.

Citi Qualification Criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in
  – Business
  – Accounting
  – Finance
• 1–2 years of experience in financial services, banking operations, compliance, risk management, sanctions screening, or related domains.

Required skills:

• Treasury products, accounting, and regulatory policies
• Ability to juggle tasks and communicate with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to analyze complex information, identify discrepancies, and apply critical thinking to problem-solving.
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
