Responsibilities of Trainee:

  • Provide 24×7 application and infrastructure monitoring (“Eyes on Glass”) using tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Azure Monitor, SolarWinds, Datadog, and Nagios to detect anomalies, establish baselines, and generate actionable alerts for critical systems.

  • Act as an Incident Coordinator during major incidents by initiating/joining bridge calls, escalating issues, tracking progress, documenting updates, and participating in Post-Incident Reviews (PIRs).

  • Perform incident triage and escalation, routing auto-generated tickets per SOPs, ensuring timely acknowledgment, resolution, communication, and contribution to Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

  • Develop and maintain knowledge articles, SOPs, and known error databases to strengthen L1 support and reduce dependency on SMEs.

  • Drive automation and shift-left initiatives by identifying recurring issues, standardizing procedures, and recommending automated monitoring and remediation solutions.

  • Collaborate with DevOps, Operations, Product teams, and external vendors for escalations, SOP creation, and faster incident resolution.

  • Track and report operational KPIs including MTTD, MTTR, incident volume, change validation success, and major incident avoidance to enable continuous improvement.

  • Ensure 24x7x365 operational coverage, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays, with on-site shift rotations (no hybrid work).

  • Non-Engineering Graduate (BSC- IT, BCA )

Required skills:

  • Experience: 0 to 6 Months in IT operations, NOC/SOC, incident management, or application support in a 24/7 environment.
  • Technical expertise: Proficiency in system and application monitoring platform tools (preferably Dynatrace, Grafana, and/or Azure Monitor, Nagios, Solarwinds, Datadog etc.) and ITSM tools (ServiceNow, JIRA etc).
    Familiarity with alert configuration (add, modify, suppress), dashboarding, and real-time monitoring.
    ITIL Foundational certification preferred.
  • Incident Management: Hands-on experience coordinating or participating in major incident resolution, including bridge facilitation and stakeholder communication.
    Familiarity with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Automation: Exposure to scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) and automation tools to resolve frequent or known issues is preferred.
  • Process Orientation: Experience documenting or following SOPs and contributing to incident knowledge bases.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable communicating with technical and business stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Reporting: Experience generating operational metrics, insights and status reports.
