Responsibilities of an Associate Software Engineer:

  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java applications based on business requirements.
  • Build high-quality, maintainable software using Agile development methodologies.
  • Participate in sprint planning, requirement analysis, solution design, work estimation, and task breakdown.
  • Write unit tests, perform integration testing, and participate in peer code reviews to ensure software quality.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to improve system supportability and code reusability.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and team meetings while providing regular progress updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance software solutions.

LSEG Eligibility Criteria:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is desirable.
  • Candidates with 1–3 years of experience in software development are eligible to apply.

Required skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of the Java language, J2EE, Spring, and Hibernate

  • Proven grasp of implementing object-oriented programming.

  • Familiar with various design patterns.

  • Experience with Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development.

  • Prior Knowledge of databases and SQL.

  • Excellent understanding of security implications and secure coding.

  • Self-starter, self-inclined in getting the work done.

  • Superb verbal and written communication.

  • Skill for writing clean, readable code and reusable Java libraries.

  • Proficient in using source code management tools such as GitLab.

  • Experienced in a formal agile software development lifecycle.
