Responsibilities of a Jr. Data Engineer:

  • Utilize skills in development areas including data warehousing, business intelligence, and databases such as Snowflake, ANSI SQL, SQL Server, and T-SQL.

  • Support software development activities using ETL and ELT tools including dbt, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS.

  • Design, develop, enhance, and support business intelligence solutions primarily using Microsoft Power BI.

  • Collect, analyze, and document user requirements for business and technical needs.

  • Participate in software validation processes through the development, review, and execution of test plans, test cases, and scripts.

  • Create software applications by following the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance.

  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding projects, tools, development activities, and procedures.

  • Provide end-user support, including application setup, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Medpace Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field;

  • Internship experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering.

Required skills:

  • Knowledge of developing dimensional data models and awareness of the advantages and limitations of Star Schema and Snowflake schema designs;
  • Solid ETL development and reporting knowledge based on an intricate understanding of business processes and measures;
  • Knowledge of Snowflake cloud data warehouse, Fivetran data integration and dbt transformations (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Python (preferred)
  • Knowledge of REST API
  • Knowledge of SQL Server databases is required
  • Knowledge of C#, Azure development is a bonus and
  • Analytical, written and oral communication skills.
