SSC Stenographer Recruitment Drive 2024:

Educational Qualification (as on 17 August 2024):

• Candidates must have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University

SSC Stenographer 2024 – Age Limit  ( As on 01 August 2024 ):

• Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 18 to 30 years (candidates born not before 02.08.1994 and not later than 01.08.2006 are eligible to apply)
• Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 18 to 27 years (Candidates born not before 02.08.1997 and not later than 01.08.2006 are eligible to apply)

SSC Stenographer Selection Process 2024

The selection process will be based on a Computer-Based Mode Examination, Skill Test & Document Verification (DV).

Computer-Based Examination:

• Computer-Based Mode Examination (200 Marks) – 2 Hours
• Question paper will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi.
• There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Computer Based Examinatio
• Minimum qualifying marks in Computer Based Examination: UR: 30%; OBC/EWS: 25%; All Other Categories: 20%

Scheme of Examination:

Skill Test:

• The candidates who are shortlisted in the Computer Based Examination will be required to appear in the Skill Test for Stenography.
• The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted by the candidates in the online Application Form) at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’.
• Candidates who opt to take the Stenography Test in Hindi will be required to learn English Stenography and vice versa after their appointment, failing which their probation may not be cleared by appointing departments / Organizations
• The Skill Test will be held at the Commission’s Regional Offices or at other Centre(s) as may be decided by the Commission.

Document Verification (DV): 

• Document Verification (DV) will be conducted by the User Departments/Organizations after declaration of the final result.

SSC Stenographer Application Fee

• The application fee for SSC Recruitment 2024 is Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only).
• Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.
