UPSC CMS Recruitment Drive 2026 – Educational Qualifications

  • Must have an MBBS degree with both the written and practical parts of the final MBBS examination passed.
  • Candidates appearing in their final year of M.B.B.S. are also eligible to apply

UPSC Recruitment 2026 – Age Limit

  • The maximum age limit for candidates applying for the Combined Medical Services Examination as on 1st August, 2026, should be-
    – General Candidates: 32 years
    – Medical Officers (Central Health Services): 35 Years

Age Relaxation – UPSC Recruitment 2026:

  • Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe – 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer) – 3 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) – 10 Years
  • Persons affected by 1984 riots – 5 years
  • Widows, divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried – Upto 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST candidates

Selection Process of UPSC Careers:

The UPSC CMS Exam consists of two stages

Stage 1: Written Exam (Computer-Based Test):

  • Paper 1: General Medicine & Pediatrics – 250 Marks
  • Paper 2: Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Preventive & Social Medicine – 250 Marks
  • Duration: 2 Hours each
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark per wrong answer

Stage 2: Personality Test (Interview):

  • Candidates who pass the written exam are called for a Personality Test.
  • Total marks: 100
  • Tests general awareness, communication skills, and medical knowledge.
