Indian Air Force AFCAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria:
For Flying Branch:
- Minimum of 60% marks each in Maths & Physics at 10+2 level.
- Graduates (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR
- BE/B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
- Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
For Ground Duty (Technical):
Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics)/(Mechanical):
- Candidates with a minimum of 50% mark each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University
- OR cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India)
For Ground Duty (Non-Technical)
Administration
- Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Education:
- Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline.
For NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch):
- Minimum 60% marks in each in Maths & Physics at 10 + 2 level.
Graduate (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. (OR) - BE/B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent(OR)
- Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
- Final Year/semester students are also eligible to apply, provided they do not have any present backlogs at the time of AFSB Testing and produce Degree certificates issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.
- NCC Air Wing Senior Division ’C’ certificate and validity of the certificate would be two years before the date of advertisement.
Note: Candidates who are studying in the final year/semester Degree course and are yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply provided candidate should not have any present backlog and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks up to the last semester/year for which results have been declared up to the time of submission of application.
AFCAT 2025 Physical Fitness Test:
- Candidates are advised to be physically fit when you report for SSB in order to be able to undergo various tests at AFSB. You should aim to achieve an ability to run 01 mile (1.6 kms) in 10 minutes, 10 push ups and 3 chin ups.

Question Type: Objective Type
Number of Questions: 100
Maximum Mark: 300
Subject: General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test
Marking Scheme: +3 marks for each correct answer and -1 mark for every incorrect answer

Duration: Conducted over 5-6 days, consisting of
Stage 1:
- Officer Intelligence Rating Test
- Picture Perception and Discussion Test
Stage 2:
- Psychological Tests
- Group Tests
- Personal Interview
PABT/ CPSS Test: A Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) would be administered to recommended candidates only.

Medical Examination
Eligibility: Only those recommended by the Selection Board undergo this examination.
Test:
- Running 1.6 km in 10 minutes.
- Perform at least 10 push-ups.
- Completing 3 chin-ups.

IAF AFCAT 2025 – Application Fee:
- Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 550/- (plus GST) as an examination fee
- However, candidates registering for NCC Special Entry and Meteorology Entry are not required to pay.

- Click on the ‘New Registration’ link to begin the registration process.
- Provide your mobile number and email ID for updates and receive an OTP for verification.
- Enter the OTP received on your email and mobile to verify your contact details.
- Upon verification, you’ll receive a login ID and password in your email.
- Access the ‘Candidate Login’ portal using the provided credentials.
- Enter the captcha code and click on ‘Sign In’.
- Choose the desired posts you wish to apply for.
- Complete the application form by filling in educational qualifications and other required fields.

- Upload scanned passport-size photographs and signatures in jpeg format.
