Job Description:

HSBC is hiring candidates for the post of Software Engineer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of Unix operating system   and all related systems
• Detect and diagnose all Unix related problems.
• Responsible for recovery and backup process.
• Installation, Configuration and troubleshooting knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster Server and Veritas Netbackup Client.
• Understanding of Network OSI Model, TCP/IP and Routing.
• Good knowledge of RAID Levels such as RAID-0, RAID-1, RAID-1+0, RAID-5.
• Working experience on SAN /NAS storage with ability to lead incidents in real time towards resolution.
• Configuring EMC/Hitachi LUNs on UNIX servers.
• Understating of LVM/VXVM and detect underlying HW/SW issues and fix those effectively
• Understanding of multipath concept and its implementation as well.
• Working knowledge of coding and scripting e.g. Shell or Python etc.
• Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible or an equivalent Devops tool
• Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management
• Should be well versed with ITIL concepts and more specific understanding of Service operations activities.
• Worked in an infrastructure critical environment and understands how technology adds value to the business and ultimately the end customer.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player.
• Working across cultures.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree from  CS/IT/ECE.

Preferred skill:

• Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management
• Should be well versed with ITIL concepts and more specific understanding of Service operations activities.
• Work in an infrastructure critical environment and understands how technology adds value to the business and ultimately the end customer.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player.
• Working across cultures
